About the Author & Family

Jenny Barnett-Sarpalius was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. After college, Jenny moved to Houston, where she lived for almost seventeen (17) years. During her time in Houston, she worked primarily in healthcare finance for large healthcare systems. In 2004, she married Bill Sarpalius and several years later moved to the east coast on the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. Jenny continued to work as a financial executive for a large healthcare system and in 2012 was named Chief Financial Officer of the year by the Philadelphia Business Journal. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys reading, outdoor activities, gardening, fashion, interior decorating, travel, cooking (of course!), and, obviously, writing! Jenny and Bill have two “fur-kids”, Big Duke and Marcel.
